Disneyland Paris when you’re Pregnant – is it worth it? Tips and tricks

I’m six months pregnant and we took our girls 2 and 4 to Disneyland Paris.

If you’re going to Disneyland Paris, and are pregnant, you might be wondering, is it worth it? Will you be able to go on anything? How will you feel standing in a queue for so long?

Well, let me tell you about my experience of being pregnant at Disneyland Paris.

Disneyland Paris when pregnant

First up, major tip.

Expectant mothers get to queue jump. You have to go to City Hall which is on the left as you walk in the park. At City Hall, show the staff your MatB1 or scan pic alongside your ID and they’ll give you a special wristband. For us, the wristband allowed me and 3 others to queue hop.

You must go on the ride though. You can’t queue hop and then let the partner go on with the kids. You have to ride with them for the special deal.

We only found out about this half way through the first day, and had queued for a few rides. Thankfully the ride queues weren’t long on those but I can see why you wouldn’t want to do so much standing when you’re pregnant. Especially in the heat!

You also get priority access area for the parade away from the busier areas. And, priority access for the shows at Disney Studios. Wish we’d known that before we purchased fast passes! But hopefully sharing this tip with you will save you some money.

What rides can you go on pregnant at Disneyland Paris?

These are the rides we went on without questions and were able to skip the queue.

  • Small World
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Le Carrousel de Lancelot
  • Alices’s curious Labyrinth
  • le pays des contes de fees (Little boat ride around iconic fairy tales)
  • Les Mysteres du Nautilus (Submarine walk through)
  • Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups
  • Phantom Manor (This says not suitable, but they didn’t stop me)
  • Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing (This was very relaxing and got to sit down for 10 minutes!)
  • Cars
  • Aladdin walk through
  • Princess Pavillion
  • Sleeping Beauty Castle

You can also skip queues in restaurants, too. But it wasn’t so busy we needed to do that.

Dealing with the heat at Disneyland Paris when you’re pregnant

We went end of August and it was 27 degrees. It was HOT.

Thankfully, there are lots of places to fill up water, so take a reusable water bottle.

There are also these water misters located around the park that are great to stand under to get some relief from the heat!

Take a mini fan. These are a Godsend.

Is it worth going to Disneyland Paris when you’re pregnant?

For me, with two young kids it is a big yes.

If your kids are older and likely to want to go on the big rollercoasters, it might feel like you’re missing out as you won’t be able to ride. You’ll probably be left holding the bags.

If your kids are little, it’s likely you’ll only be on the family friendly rides and watching shows/parades. So you won’t miss out.

There’s so much more to Disneyland Paris than the rides. I would have been happy to watch the parades, shows, and go on the walk throughs.

Getting the wrist band for fast pass is a HUGE win. You sort of feel like a celeb.

If you take the Eurostar, you are also able to get priority.

Embrace the bump!

  1. […] First up, pro tip if you’re pregnant and going to Disneyland Paris: go to City Hall, show them something medical that proves you’re pregnant, and your ID. I showed a picture of the scan which they accepted. This gives you fast pass for you and 4 others to get onto rides that are OK for pregnant people. The haunted house said it wasn’t recommended for pregnancy, but they still let us fast track, so I don’t think they’re too strict on it. Read my blog on Disneyland Paris when you’re pregnant here.
