Five Easy Read Book Recommendations

I’ve been reading in the night during feeding. This means I’ve needed something easy, but also something that holds my attention. Easy reads don’t have to mean trashy or simple. Some of these have quite deep themes if you have the energy to think about them!

You might like an easy read if you’re reading at home or on holiday and also need to keep an eye on the kids. Or maybe, you just want to get back in to reading and don’t fancy starting on anything that vaguely represents War and Peace.

Here are five easy read recommendations I’ve loved.

1. How to Stop Time – Matt Haig

easy read books

I’m a fan of Matt Haig. His books are funny and cleaver. How to Stop Time has a blend of modern day and history. A funny central character and an easy to follow plot – even when it moves around centuries.

3. Songbirds – Christy Lefteri

Easy read book recommendations

Some of this book was tricky to read because of the subject matter. But it opened my eyes to something I had no idea about. And, it was certainly a page turner. Likeable characters, interesting setting, and engaging story.

easy read books

Notes on a Nervous Planet is just excellent. I’ve read it twice. Each time I’ve taken something different from it. I love the short chapters, the poetic chapters, and the way it makes you think! This is a must read. It will also make you want to break up with technology…
