Before going to Tumblestone Hollow, I had a few questions.
- How far is the car park? (A must ask when you have a velcro and quite heavy two year old)
- Is the coffee near the park?
- Is there enough stuff for a 2 year old?
- Will a grown adult be able to get on and help
I thought, if you’re heading to Tumblestone Hollow in Henley with two kids to one adult, you might have similar questions.
Here’s how I found my trip to Tumblestone Hollow with a four and two year old.
Tumblestone Hollow Review

It’s such a beautiful setting. Rolling hills for miles. You follow the drive to the end and park up next to a little cabin.
In the cabin, you’ll show your tickets or buy your tickets. There are also toilets in here, a shop, and I’m sorry to say, ice creams. This might mean you have the ice cream battle/conversation before you’ve been here for two minutes or stepped foot on the play frame.
You then walk up a hill and take a right towards the play park, you can’t miss it. Go left for the house.
When you get into the main play area, there are swings, a small frame, and water pumps. The water pumps looked loads of fun but unfortunately the rain was our own water pump and no one was up for getting wetter.
Just beyond this part is a zip line, then further on (up hill) is the main frame.
It’s huge. Loads of entry points for different ages. Climbing walls, tunnels, and steps. Bridges and slides. Turrets and look outs. It’s really cool. And everything is adult size too. There are a few places you have to duck, but I managed to get around the whole thing without much trouble. I did hit my head once actually, but so did Martha and she’s 90cm.

I felt like I was doing a workout. Having kids is definitely a reason to keep fit. Up hills, over bridges, up ladders. I got a sweat on! My kids are little, so they wanted me to come with, and I wanted to go with to be honest! If your kids are older they’ll be fine going off on their own here.
There are two tunnel slides. They’re pretty fast if you’re in leggings! Absolutely flew down them.
When it comes to feeding time, there are wood fired pizzas. This was quite busy and we did have a wait, but we ordered right dead on lunch time. You can eat in the sheltered Teepee which was welcomed as the heavens were opening! If it’s raining a little bit here you’d be fine as the trees are good cover. But this was biblical. Water was dripping off my nose.
My two year old was able to get around mostly on her own, but she needed a little bunk up here and there. My four year old was fine doing it all, even able to go down the slide on her own.

Food and drink prices at Tumblestone Hollow
We took a picnic and my friend got a pizza. Margarita pizza was £11. I did get a hot chocolate which was £3.40 or something like that. Sort of expected prices I’d say. You can go and not spend any extra money though, just prepare yourself with a decent picnic and fun snacks to distract from ice cream.

Is Tumblestone Hollow for 2 year olds?
The walk to the car is not bad at all. Up hill which isn’t fun when you’re carrying the two year old, but it’s manageable. There is loads for them to do on the small frames, and the big ones too. They won’t be bored!
Is Tumblestone Hollow for 4 year olds?
Yep. Ida loved it. There was loads for her to do. She even went to play in the rain she loved it that much. Certainly some of the things were a challenge and she needed help, but as long as you’re around they’ll have a great time.

Would I go again?
I 100% will. Ideally on a sunny day. It was on and off rain so we didn’t get the full experience. But I’ll go again when it’s dry, or drizzly. I imagine it gets busy on hot days as it is in the shade. I wonder if they cap the numbers, I’d like to think so as it could be chaos!
Update – a friend went on a hot day in half term and said there were queues for things.
