Soft Play in Aylesbury

What is it about those brightly coloured, wipeable, soft surfaces that kids just go mad for?

I have really vivid memories of Folkstone’s Fun Station from when I was a kid. The slide was HUGE. Or I was really small. Maybe both. But I loved them, too.

When I heard about a new soft play in Aylesbury with role play, I was excited. I mean, the girls were excited.

Stay and Play Aylesbury is in the Hale Leys Shopping Centre. I think it was Next previously, it’s opposite Boots.

What’s good about this Soft Play in Aylesbury?

The welcome

The person on the front desk was smiley and friendly. From the first impressions, it looked clean and well kept.

There’s no need to book ahead, and there’s no time slots or session times. This might mean it gets busy in holidays, but term time was lovely and quiet.

The soft play in Aylesbury play frame

I’m 5″5 and I couldn’t stand up in the frame. It’s a crawling one for sure, if you’re going in that is. Perfect for kids obviously. There is a little meerkat style look out in the middle, so if you lose your small, it’s a good place to go as you get a 360 view. It also has these little boulders that are comfortable to sit on if you’re tired from crawling around being a big bad wolf.

There are 3 slides in the bigger bit, and 1 in the baby/toddler section. Two of the slides are tunnel slides, they’re not huge, but the plus side of this is they’re not going to give you slide burn on your elbows when you inevitably have to go down it. There’s one in Whizz Kids in Thame where you get to the bottom and you feel like you’ve been in a washing machine.

The frame is like a Tardis though. It’s surprisingly big. There are hidden spots, like a ball pit under the slide.

Throughout the frame there are games like spot the difference and a finger maze.

There’s also a spinning thing at the back, a sensory light illusion, and a digital fish tank.

You’ll also find those spinny things that you have to post yourself through. Weirdly, I enjoy these!

There is plenty of seating just outside the frame and the coffee is good. Food isn’t overpriced which is great news. A toastie is £3 and a Fruit Shoot like drink is £1.

Role play at Soft Play in Aylesbury

Now, the soft play is pretty good. But, when you couple it with the role play upstairs it gets so many extra points and makes the entrance fee feel like a steal.

Upstairs, behind a locked gate, is a treasure trove for the imagination.

Each role play room seems to have a tie to Aylesbury, too which I thought was a nice touch.

There’s the Manor for a meal, Treatz for ice cream, MP Motorsports for cars, Martingale Home Improvements for building, a fire station and Police Station. There’s also a baby room, food shop, petrol station and coffee shop.

A little track goes around the floor so kids can jump into those Little Tikes cars they love so much, but our backs don’t.

Parents can join in being shop keeper, or pushing kids around in those cars, or rest their weary legs on one of the many benches.

Soft play in Aylesbury without limits!

No limits in your time, which I think is great. We stayed for 3 hours, but Matt stayed for about 4 when he went.

The whole place felt clean and well looked after.

Things I really liked about this soft play in Aylesbury

  • – The toilets were clean
  • – The hand dryer was really quiet. They can be scary for kids, so I appreciated not being in a confined space with a crying toddler
  • – You can stay as long as you like
  • – The food was reasonably priced
  • – There was plenty of seating

What age is this soft play in Aylesbury suitable for?

There is a baby play frame with balls and a little slide. In here there was a baby just sitting up. I think kids would get the most out of it when they can crawl or walk. Kids usually get into role play around 18 months, if your kid loves it, they’ll love this. Online it says their frame is suitable for up to age 12, but it would depend on your child. Also if they’re a tall 12 year old, they might get sick of hunching over or crawling.

Final verdict on Stay and Play Aylesbury

I’d 100% visit this soft play in Aylesbury again. The girls loved it.

Also it’s very easy to park with the carpark just outside the shopping centre. This gets a big thumbs up from me.
